As the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) points out the imperilment of workers\u2019 right to severance pay in the country, it calls on people to raise their voice against the injustice readjustment of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) government protecting the interests of the capitalist class under the pretext of \u2018\u2018increasing the employment\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n
Urging people to not to keep silent against the government\u2019s usurpation of workers\u2019 severance pay, TKP has laid emphasis on the necessity of rising solidarity and an organized working class in order to resist the government\u2019s recent anti-labour policy. <\/p>\n
\u2018\u2018The capitalist class in Turkey is preparing for a new attack on our right to severance pay. Bosses attempt to usurp our right to severance pay under the name of \u2018severance pay fund\u2019 by expanding the scope of fixed-term contracts to further impoverished the workers,\u2019\u2019 TKP said in its statement. <\/p>\n
Noting that the Turkish government in collaboration with the capitalist class aims to force workers to work under much more flexible working conditions, TKP stated, \u2018\u2018The name of the government\u2019s new attack on workers\u2019 right is \u2018fixed-term employment contract\u2019. Whenever an economic crisis erupts and unemployment increases, the capitalist class and its representative \u2500 political power \u2500 encroach our rights to reduce labour costs under the pretext of \u2018alleviating the unemployment\u2019. Yet, unemployment has already boomed in the country.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2018We are once again in an economic crisis. This time the crisis is accompanied by a pandemic crisis, COVID-19. And the government is trying to put its unchanging plan into use: Setting its eyes on the workers\u2019 right to severance pay so as to prevent profit erosion for the capitalist class.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
Reminding that Turkish government\u2019s recent agenda is the abolishment of severance pay via new \u2018\u2018supplementary pension scheme\u2019\u2019, TKP underlined in its statement, \u2018\u2018This readjustment will pave the way for the employment of workers under 25 and over 50 with fixed-term contracts, which will cause the elimination of severance pay for them while the retirement will become more difficult.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
