In recent months, U.S. imperialism has escalated its aggression against Cuba through an oil blockade, a new wave of sanctions targeting state institutions and officials, and repeated threats of military intervention. In an attempt to manufacture a veneer of legitimacy for this escalating hostility, it has now added yet another fabricated accusation to its chain of lies. It has issued an indictment against Ra\u00fal Castro based on the nonsense claim that he ordered the downing of two U.S. civilian aircraft in 1996, resulting in the deaths of four people.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The U.S. government, which has long since crossed every line of legitimacy, is now attempting to extend its hand against Ra\u00fal Castro, one of the historical leaders of the Cuban Revolution, who continues to hold the historical title of Army General.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We see no need whatsoever to debate the falsity of these claims, which are nothing but the product of anti-communist hysteria manufactured by the U.S. Department of Justice. We categorically condemn this attempt in its entirety.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The leadership of the Cuban Revolution has withstood the harshest trials of history with dignity and has been vindicated by history itself. To attempt to place Ra\u00fal Castro\u2014who has carried out the most critical responsibilities in this historic struggle and who holds an indelible place in the hearts and minds of the Cuban people as a hero of the revolution\u2014on the defendants\u2019 bench of such so-called courts is beyond the authority of anyone, least of all U.S. imperialism.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Whenever the United States accuses Cuba, the real perpetrator is always itself. Just as it seeks to blame Cuba\u2019s socialist system for the country\u2019s energy shortages, it now attempts to hold Cuba responsible for the consequences of its own terrorist operations.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The aircraft downed in 1996 by the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces were not ordinary civilian planes. They belonged to the Miami-based counterrevolutionary group <\/span>Brothers to the Rescue<\/span><\/i>, one of the CIA-backed organizations at the forefront of counterrevolutionary activity.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This organization repeatedly carried out operations aimed at inciting the Cuban people against their revolutionary government, violating Cuban airspace with propaganda flights, radio transmissions, and even attempts to disperse biological agents over agricultural areas. These illegal activities were repeatedly documented, reported to the U.S. government, and warnings were issued that continued violations would result in the aircraft being shot down. Despite this, the U.S. government continued to support and encourage these groups.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Cuban people and the Cuban government have every right to defend their homeland against counterrevolutionary operations and terrorist attacks. Cuba has the sovereign right to defend itself. With this baseless indictment, U.S. imperialism is once again targeting Cuba\u2019s right to self-defense.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

By raising such a case three decades later, the United States is attempting to pave the way for potential military escalation and to create conditions for targeting Cuba\u2019s leadership through coercive and unlawful means.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Communist Party of Turkey stands firmly against all attacks targeting Cuba and will continue to do so. We stand with the Cuban people and their revolutionary leadership.<\/span><\/p>\n

El imperialismo estadounidense ha sumado una nueva acusaci\u00f3n llena de mentiras a su agresi\u00f3n, la cual ha venido escalando en los \u00faltimos meses mediante el asedio petrolero, nuevas sanciones dirigidas contra las instituciones y dirigentes del pa\u00eds, y amenazas de intervenci\u00f3n militar, todo esto con el fin de legitimar sus acciones. Ha publicado una acusaci\u00f3n absurda contra Ra\u00fal Castro, alegando que en 1996 orden\u00f3 el derribo de dos aviones civiles estadounidenses, provocando la muerte de cuatro personas.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

El gobierno de los EE. UU., sobrepasando completamente todos los l\u00edmites, ha tenido la audacia de atentar contra Ra\u00fal Castro, uno de los l\u00edderes hist\u00f3ricos de la Revoluci\u00f3n Cubana y quien hist\u00f3ricamente a\u00fan ostenta el t\u00edtulo de General de Ej\u00e9rcito.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ni siquiera sentimos la necesidad de discutir la falsedad de estas acusaciones lanzadas por el Departamento de Justicia de los EE. UU. bajo una histeria anticomunista; condenamos este intento de principio a fin.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

La direcci\u00f3n de la Revoluci\u00f3n Cubana ha salido con la frente en alto de las pruebas m\u00e1s duras a lo largo de la historia revolucionaria; ha sido probada y absuelta por la historia. Intentar tomar medidas para sentar en el banquillo de los acusados de sus supuestos tribunales a Ra\u00fal Castro \u2014quien ha asumido las responsabilidades m\u00e1s cr\u00edticas en esta lucha hist\u00f3rica y se ha ganado un lugar imborrable como h\u00e9roe de la revoluci\u00f3n en la mente y el coraz\u00f3n del pueblo cubano\u2014 no es asunto de nadie, y mucho menos del imperialismo estadounidense.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Sabemos que cada vez que EE. UU. acusa a Cuba de algo, el verdadero culpable es \u00e9l mismo. Al igual que cuando intentan culpar al socialismo cubano por el cuello de botella energ\u00e9tico que vive el pa\u00eds, aqu\u00ed tambi\u00e9n intentan responsabilizar a Cuba de las consecuencias de sus propias actividades terroristas.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Los aviones derribados por las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Cuba en 1996 no eran aviones civiles comunes. Estamos hablando de dos aviones pertenecientes al grupo “Hermanos al Rescate” (Brothers to the Rescue), una de las principales bandas contrarrevolucionarias con sede en Miami y financiada por la CIA.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Las actividades ilegales de organizaciones como “Hermanos al Rescate” \u2014que operaban para incitar al pueblo cubano a rebelarse contra el gobierno revolucionario y que violaron el espacio a\u00e9reo cubano cientos de veces para lanzar transmisiones de radio, folletos de propaganda e incluso agentes biol\u00f3gicos que envenenaban las tierras agr\u00edcolas de Cuba\u2014 fueron detectadas en repetidas ocasiones, reportadas m\u00faltiples veces al gobierno de los EE. UU., y se emitieron reiteradas advertencias para que se detuvieran, advirtiendo que de continuar, los aviones ser\u00edan derribados. A pesar de esto, el gobierno estadounidense sigui\u00f3 alimentando y alentando a estas organizaciones.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

El pueblo cubano y el gobierno cubano tienen el derecho de defender su patria contra las actividades contrarrevolucionarias y los ataques terroristas; Cuba tiene el derecho de defender su soberan\u00eda. El imperialismo estadounidense, con esta acusaci\u00f3n irracional, apunta una vez m\u00e1s al derecho de Cuba a la leg\u00edtima defensa y a su soberan\u00eda.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Al poner en agenda una acusaci\u00f3n de este tipo despu\u00e9s de treinta a\u00f1os, EE. UU. intenta allanar el camino para una intervenci\u00f3n militar contra el pa\u00eds; busca crear el terreno para secuestrar de manera bandidesca a los dirigentes del pa\u00eds y a los l\u00edderes de la revoluci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

El Partido Comunista de Turqu\u00eda est\u00e1 en contra de cualquier tipo de agresi\u00f3n dirigida hacia Cuba, y as\u00ed seguir\u00e1 siendo en el futuro. Estamos al lado del pueblo cubano y de su direcci\u00f3n revolucionaria.<\/p>\n
