Kemal Okuyan framed solidarity with Cuba as a principled and political position rooted in anti-imperialism.\u201cAnti-communism and hostility to socialism are the most dangerous virus in the world\u2026 we need to remind ourselves why we stand in solidarity with Cuba, so that we can strengthen that solidarity even further,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Referring to recent regional developments and imperialist aggression towards Iran, Okuyan stressed that resistance to imperialism transcends political differences: \u201cWe have no political affinity with the regime in Iran – but didn\u2019t everyone here feel a sense of excitement at Iran\u2019s resistance? Didn\u2019t our humanity rise up?\u201d He emphasized that this constitutes a fundamental principle: \u201cWe stand in solidarity with anyone who defies U.S. imperialism.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYes to Cuba, no to barbarism\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Describing Cuba as a \u201cdeveloped society\u201d in terms of human values rather than material indicators, Okuyan pointed to the achievements of the revolution: \u201cThrough its education system, healthcare, culture, and people, Cuba created a developed society\u2026 and now they want to destroy that by depriving Cuba of its material means.\u201d He characterized the current situation as a direct confrontation: \u201cA clash between a developed Cuban society and barbarism\u2026 Yes to Cuba, no to barbarism.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Cuba\u2019s values, leadership and internationalism<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Okuyan also highlighted the moral and political values embodied by the Cuban Revolution: \u201cThe values represented in Cuba do not oppress people- they elevate them. That is why we stand in solidarity with Cuba.\u201d Referring to revolutionary leadership, he recalled figures such as Fidel Castro and Che Guevara as enduring symbols of struggle.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He further emphasized Cuba\u2019s internationalist role, from its support in Angola to the deployment of Cuban doctors to T\u00fcrkiye after the earthquake: \u201cWherever help was needed, Cuba rushed to stand with people\u2026 Cuba has been carrying humanity on its shoulders for decades.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThis is a class struggle\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Okuyan framed the pressure on Cuba as part of a global class conflict: \u201cThis is a struggle between workers and the poor on one side, and multinational monopolies on the other\u2026 Behind the attacks on Cuba lies capitalism and imperialism.\u201d \u00a0He stressed that the United States demands Cuba abandon its independence and socialism, while Cuba continues to resist despite severe conditions.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cCubans do not surrender\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Concluding his remarks, Okuyan emphasized the resilience and determination of the Cuban people: \u201cCubans do not surrender\u2026 They continue to live, struggle and resist despite all difficulties. No one should expect Cuba to give up its spirit.\u201d He added that strengthening international solidarity is essential to increasing the political cost of aggression against Cuba and preventing further escalation.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ram\u00edrez Ca\u00f1edo: \u201cCuba will never surrender\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Elier Ram\u00edrez Ca\u00f1edo placed Cuba\u2019s current struggle within a broader historical and ideological framework, emphasizing the enduring influence of Fidel Castro. \u201cFidel\u2019s example is shared by millions\u2026 Today, these millions continue the struggle both in Cuba and across the world,\u201d he said, underlining that the Cuban Revolution not only ensured a fairer distribution of wealth but also achieved a profound cultural and social transformation.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Bay of Pigs and the legacy of resistance<\/strong><\/p>\n Marking April 19 as the anniversary of the Bay of Pigs Invasion, Ram\u00edrez Ca\u00f1edo recalled the decisive defeat of U.S.-backed forces:\u201cSixty-five years ago, a small people defeated the world\u2019s greatest power in less than 72 hours\u2026 Bay of Pigs showed that imperialism is not invincible.\u201d He described this experience as a \u201cstrategic memory\u201d for today, as Cuba faces an intensified blockade aimed at crippling its energy and economic systems.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cEither socialist Cuba or death\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Concluding his speech, Ram\u00edrez Ca\u00f1edo stressed the gravity of current conditions: \u201cCuba is standing.
