While the casualties continue to mount after the earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş and extending over a wider region in the southeast of Turkey, messages for help and solidarity continue to come from abroad. Communist and workers’ parties and other organizations from many countries continue to send solidarity messages to TKP and the people of Turkey and Syria.
Among the messages received throughout the day were those of the Communist Party of Cuba, Communist Party of the Workers of Spain (PCTE), Communist Party of Venezuela, Workers Party of Belgium, Communist Party of Belgium, Lebanese Communist Party, Communist Party of Israel, TUDEH-Iran, Communist Party of Portugal, Brazilian Communist Party (PCB), Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB President Luciana Santos). There have also been messages of support and solidarity from the Communist Party of Sweden, the Communist Party of South Africa, the Communist Workers Party of Russia, the Workers Party of Ireland, Communist Party of Ireland, Communists of Serbia, Communist Party of Canada, Communist Party of Albania, Communist Party of Swaziland, CP Italy, Communist Party of Azerbaijan, Party of Labour of Austria, AKEL, Communist Party of Chile, Iraqi Communist Party, New Communist Party of the Netherlands, Communist Party of Finland, Communist Party of Denmark, Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia, Communist Party of Britain, Party of Socialism and Liberation (USA), Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Socialist Party of Romania, and the Communist Party of the Philippines, as well as a message of full solidarity with the peoples of Turkey and Syria from Dimitris Koutsoumbas, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Greece.
PAME-Greece and ICAP-Cuba were also among the mass organizations that extended their solidarity messages and stated their readiness to contribute to the rescue efforts. Musicians and artists in Greece who are on strike today will give a solidarity concert under the roof of PAME, for earthquake victims. World Peace Assembly President Pallab Sengupta and many other peace organizations, as well as All Pakistan Federatio of United Trade Unions have also expressed their solidarity.
In addition to solidarity messages, the communist and workers’ parties of the world continue to follow the news published regularly by TKP in order to access reliable information on the situation and developments in the region after the earthquake.
