Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) is hosting an important delegation from Greece as part of its election campaign.
The delegation of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), which includes Kostas Peletidis, one of the communist mayors of Greece, will be in Turkey in the coming days upon the invitation of the TKP leadership and will participate in TKP’s electoral events in Istanbul and Hatay Defne.
Peletidis has been the mayor of Patras, the third largest city in Greece, for three terms as mayor of the Communist Party of Greece.
His experience in Patras had previously been on the agenda of the Turkish press with the cancellation of debts of citizens in economic difficulties, municipal programmes creating new job opportunities, and not allowing the racist activities of the fascist party Golden Dawn.
During this meaningful visit programme where communist municipalities will bring the two sides of the Aegean together, TKP and KKE delegations will meet with the public and the press members to explain what communists can do in local governments and the solidarity and cooperation to be realized between the communist municipalities of the two countries.
