We are stepping in the 99th anniversary of the foundation of our Republic, of the victory that we won against imperialist invaders and the corrupted Ottoman sultanate, who had been hand in hand with the reactionaries.
The Republic was the most progressive step on this territory for independent, enlightened, and popular ideas, and for an emancipated and sovereign country.
But, while approaching the 100th anniversary, the “Republic of Turkey” has lost the character of being a Republic.
How did we found this Republic?
We founded it by getting rid of those against the civilization who were fed by the darkness.
We founded it with the slap we threw against the imperialist countries that intended to bury our corpses and tried to shroud us.
We founded it by mortifying those who surrendered against mandatary states and competed with each other on collaborationism.
We have made this revolution against the scoundrel Ottoman padishah who saw people as things and wanted to rule over not equal citizens but his own servants, and against his rotten sultanate in treason.
So, how did the republic lose its character?
Those who subcontracted to imperialism,
reactionaries and those who try to please them,
monarchy-lovers
caliphate-lovers,
moneybags who betrayed our people who abandoned egalitarian and republican ideas on the very first day for the interest of their wealth…
As they step all over us, the Republic has fallen.
Over time, against whom they won their victory were forgotten by these people. The Republic was entrusted to the enemy. At that time, the “Republic” was gone, “Turkey” without a Republic remained…
We won 1923 with the fight we gave when they tried to make us kneel down. The meaning of the republic must be sought in this struggle. 2023 must be the year in which the will to fight, the courage against the oppressors and traitors, and the belief to win are expressed “again”.
The minority who stomps over the republic tramples the idea of equality while sailing its own ship. Exploitation is growing as they multiply their fortune, and add more to their wealth.
The fight for the republic is the fight for the bread of workers against the reign of capital.
We will win this fight!
As we enter the 100th anniversary, to found a Turkey where we will live with dignity, with our heads high and proud; we are saying : 2023, once again!
