Long Live the Communist Party of Turkey!
TKP was founded 103 years ago, on 10 September 1920. Yet this day is much more than only an anniversary for the communists of Turkey, struggling for the socialist revolution.
On the anniversary of her foundation, TKP, the deepest-rooted and the most dynamic political Party of Turkey, called for the organization of working people, for a bright future, free from exploitation and classes, free from poverty and sorrow. We have no doubt that workers of this country have the power to rebuild a prosperous country on egalitarian, fraternal bases.
In a statement made by the Central Committee, it was reminded that the foundation of the Party took place during the revolutionary period following October 1917 and the liberation struggle in Anatolia against imperialists and reactionaries. TKP Central Committee emphasized the need for the working people’s will and hope to take their destiny in their own hands today, just like a century ago, as in the direst of conditions.
As part of the commemorative activities, a giant banner was hung from the historic Citadel of Ankara, calling for the socialist re-foundation of the country, on the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic. Throughout the day, district houses and party branches all around the country met with people out in the streets and in the gatherings of workers, students, youth, women, where new volunteers and members were recruited.
Glory to the oldest and the youngest Party of Turkey…
Glory to those who found TKP, at the expense of their lives…
Long live the Communist Party of Turkey!
