To the Leadership of the Communist Party of Greece
Dear Comrades,
Esteemed Delegates of the 22nd Congress of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE),
On the occasion of the 22nd Congress of the Communist Party of Greece, the Communist Party of Turkey extends its fraternal greetings to the Central Committee, cadres, and congress delegates of our fraternal party, the KKE.
We are confident that this congress, convened at a particularly critical moment, will open new positions and bring new achievements in the struggle for socialism for the KKE—the sole vanguard of the Greek working class—and will contribute strength to the difficult struggles confronting communists in Greece and around the world.
We are well aware of the challenges of holding a congress in a period marked by rapid and far-reaching global developments. Precisely for this reason, we consider it especially significant that this congress, centered on the theme of the “party,” is taking place at a time when the imperialist system is facing growing uncertainties, while the working-class struggle—alongside serious difficulties—is also generating new possibilities.
Our party has long emphasized that struggle in non-revolutionary periods must form part of the same strategic whole as struggle in revolutionary periods. In this regard, we believe that the draft congress report—which underlines the necessity of continuing revolutionary work in order to prepare for the future even in the absence of a revolutionary situation—has made the 22nd Congress an important reference point for both the struggle of the KKE and the international communist movement. We salute the KKE’s firm insistence on the necessity of continuing the struggle to overthrow capitalism with determination, despite the currently unfavorable balance of power.
Comrades,
The strengthening of the KKE is of vital importance not only for the Greek working class, but also for the struggles of working people throughout the world. Since its founding, the KKE has been the only consistent, self-sacrificing, and steadfast vanguard of the Greek working class, preserving its revolutionary identity and organizational continuity under the harshest conditions—from imperialist occupation and civil war to illegality and exile. This historical legacy today materializes as a concrete force in struggle: in the trade-union movement, in student organizations, and—building on this organizational strength—on the electoral terrain where communists assert their influence; as well as in internationalist struggles against imperialism, including efforts to block the shipment of weapons and military material to Ukraine and Israel. This determined line of struggle constitutes an important source of inspiration and confidence for communists fighting in our region and across the world.
The relationship between the Communist Party of Turkey and the Communist Party of Greece is the product of a long-standing comradeship across both sides of the Aegean, grounded in a shared class perspective against imperialism, nationalism, and the rule of capital. In the face of the increasingly severe challenges confronting the world today, this special bond of comradeship has grown stronger, deeper, and more resilient. The TKP is firmly committed to further strengthening this relationship in the period ahead.
We have no doubt that your congress will conclude with decisions that will carry forward the KKE’s historical legacy and further strengthen the struggle for socialism. With these thoughts and sentiments, we wish your congress every success.
