The following is the statement made by the Political Committee of the Communist Party of Turkey, on the latest military operation made by the Turkish Army to Iraq.

Reveal the deal you made with USA

The ongoing cross-border operation is not serving the interests of Turkey but serving the US interests. Turkey, dishonored and without compass, is drifting in the way of taking part in a bloody plan. AKP (Party of Justice and Development) government and general staff have to discontinue misleading the public opinion and end this queer game.

It is obvious that the land operation the Turkish Army started on February 21st in Iraq will not make Turkey a more safe country and will serve the imperialist policies that will divide our peoples more. The AKP government, following the USA's and EU’s policies contradicting with the international laws, rapidly recognized Kosovo, this time, have sent its soldiers into another country, as part of a plan of which all the details were agreed upon with the USA.

The Communist Party of Turkey demands that all the agreements made with the USA revealed to the public, including the one that is related with this land operation. The operation has started a process in which the Kurdish issue has been totally delivered into the imperialists' hands. If no satisfactory explanation is made, the idea that this step, which is unacceptable regarding the international law and is highly dangerous regarding the internal political stability of Turkey, has been taken by the government and the general staff together for

a) that Turkey openly supports and protects the traitorous Kurdish administration that assists dishonorably the US occupation of Iraq
b) that Turkey defends openly and with all means the US interests in Iraq
c) that Turkey contributes more to the other regional policies of USA
d) that the attention of the public opinion which was focused on the political and economic developments that was putting pressure on AKP government is diverted and that the government is put at ease

will be certainly confirmed.

Under these circumstances, the Communist Party of Turkey demands that all the troops that have crossed the border are called back immediately, that no additional Turkish troops are sent to Afghanistan and that the mission of the present troops in this country is ended, that the Turkish troops in Kosovo are withdrawn and that the decision about recognizing Kosovo is cancelled.
