Nazim Hikmet Culture Center www.nazimhikmetkulturmerkezi.org
Nazim Hikmet Culture Center (NHCC), previously called Nazim Culture House, has been founded in 1996 and operates today in Istanbul with the objective of paving the way for an alternative, vibrant and revolutionary art of struggle worthy of the great communist poet Nazim Hikmet's art and his life of struggle. In Ankara, Nazim Culture House (NCH) fulfills the same function. The many activities, lessons in art, seminars, etc. that the NHCC and NCH take upon themselves, aim to introduce an alternative to the ideological-cultural siege placed upon art and conceptions of art by the bourgeoisie against society. Opposite to the values promoted by the capitalist class, Nazim Hikmet Culture Center and Nazim Culture House encourage cultural production revolving around values of equality and freedom, with critical thought being given high priority. The NHCC and NCH include units and workshops for such branches as photography, cinema, drama, literature and music, and brings together intellectuals and artists by providing platforms for discussions on cultural, artistic and political issues. Its accumulated experience in these topics has become an invaluable resource for revolutionaries and artists in Turkey. In addition to that NHCC and NCH publicize their products through the journals New Cinema (Yeni Sinema) and Nikbinlik, which is a literature journal.

Founded in April 2002, the JMAFC aims to introduce Cuban history and culture to Turkey, and to form a wide network of solidarity with Cuba. It places as its objective the gathering of all activities and organizations enacted for solidarity with Cuba under one roof. Cuban people have become a symbol of hope and courage, especially with their will to guard the revolution against all odds, and against the blockade which has ensued for more than forty years. The JMAFC plans to muster support for Cuba through an effective portrayal of the economic and political system there as a credible and honorable one. The success of Cuba in the fields of education and health are some of the many topics with which the Turkish people can be acquainted, and thereby form a love and devotion to this island and what it stands for. Many activities have been organized since the Association's inception, such as meetings, seminars, concerts, exhibitions, publication of a monthly periodical, language and Salsa courses to name a few. In association with the Cuban Embassy in Turkey, the Association has informed the public on such issues as the plight of the five heroes, the blockade, and many more issues of concern for Cuba today. Trips to Cuba have also been organized, and members found the opportunity to see the island for themselves. José Martí Association for Friendship with Cuba will continue its successful struggle to promote the values which the island has come to symbolize: resistance, equality, and freedom.
University Councils Association www.universitekonseyleri.org
Universities have been a determining sphere of ideological struggle, which has had, and continues to have, a significant effect on society at large. In the light of this fact, student branch of the Communist Party of Turkey recognizes that universities and other educational institutions are one of the main pillars of society, in which views are shaped and thus a potential for great political activity is existent, bearing in mind the honorable past of the universities of our country in defying capitalism and imperialism. However, in order to continue this tradition, workers, teachers and students must collaborate in the struggle for socialism. The problem of universities in Turkey today was described as the increasing infiltration of capital into universities, the steps taken by the system to privatize universities, and the work being done within them in the service of such institutions as NATO, the reflection of imperialist culture through education in foreign language, which symbolize the dependency of our country to imperialism, and the impediments on the organization of labor unions among the laborers of universities. Against these problems and growing out of the social responsibility of the educated section of society towards the people, the University Councils have been inaugurated into the struggle with the collaboration of students, professors, and laborers, and is progressing towards becoming an institution which is respected in university campuses and the eyes of the public. The fundamental objective of University Councils is overcoming these problems, which can only be realized through the broader struggle against the source of the troubles: the capitalist system. In 2004, University Councils formed the University Councils Association to continue the struggle at universities in a more organized way.
Peace Association www.barisdernegi.org
Peace Association was formed in a period of utmost sensitivity and consciousness towards the necessity of peace for the progression of mankind, namely in the period in which the war on Iraq was being conducted. Established with the initiatives of Communist Party of Turkey, Peace Association endeavors to continue in the tradition of its forerunners, which have successfully raised the consciousness of the Turkish people to the inhumanity of war and its integral nature to the capitalist system. Opposition to the tragedies of war wrought by imperialism in places such as Korea and Vietnam marked the agenda of the past establishments, while the continuing belligerence against the peoples of the world have provoked the Peace Association to actively oppose imperialism and war today. The former President of the Peace Association, Bilgutay Durna, in the first assembly held by the Association on 30th of March, 2003, stated the Association's aim is opposing not only US imperialism, but all types of neo-colonialism, imperialism and militarism. The formation of peace-consciousness, with an anti-imperialist perspective, along with the struggle for a free and equal society in which wars are not legitimized but seen as crimes against humanity, is therefore seen as an imperative for the struggle against obstructions to peace. For this end, the Peace Association has demanded Turkey's withdrawal from NATO, and the shutting down of the bases in which war is planned and waged against neighbor nations. Members of the Association include people from all walks of life, including artists, scientists, authors, doctors, lawyers, engineers, workers, athletes etc… The Peace Association is a member of the World Peace Council.
